About the Role

Ora Apps Inc. needs a Principal Network Engineer who can build out a data network that’s reliable, secure, and ready to scale as the company grows worldwide. You’ll compile bills of materials, order equipment, and configure, install, and test everything from routers to firewalls to wireless access points.

This isn’t a job where you work in isolation. You’ll hand off builds to Network Operations, write documentation clear enough that other engineering teams can pick it up cold, and keep GxP compliance requirements front and center the whole way through.

The tech stack runs deep: BGP and EIGRP routing, Cisco routers and switches, Cisco wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, Zscaler Internet and Private Access, plus core services like DNS, DHCP, NTP, and Syslog. If you’ve spent time in OT, lab, or manufacturing networks, that experience counts for a lot here too.

This is a 12-month-plus W-2 contract, 4 days onsite in Albany, NY, open to H-1B transfer candidates — no third-party vendors or C2C, so you deal directly with the employer. They want someone with 8-plus years running network operations in a 24×7 global environment, not someone still learning the ropes.

Primary Responsibilities

  Install and configure routing, switching, wireless, and firewall/SASE security systems

  Partner with Network Operations for a clean build-to-run handoff

  Maintain documentation that meets GxP standards and helps other teams understand the environment

  Support projects from proof of concept through full delivery

  Spot network trends and align engineering strategy with smarter operations

  Find ways to automate network infrastructure and system administration

  Give project teams and management clear, timely status across concurrent deployments

Knowledge & Skills

• ✓8+ years running network implementation and operations in a 24×7 global environment
• ✓BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• ✓Deep knowledge of BGP, EIGRP, SD-WAN, Cisco routing/switching/wireless, and Palo Alto firewalls
• ✓Hands-on experience with Zscaler Internet Access and Private Access
• ✓Comfortable with capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, and network architecture
• ✓Experience in a Plan/Build/Run model using an MSP and ITIL v3
• ✓Familiarity with GxP guidelines and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is a strong plus
• ✓Strong written and verbal skills, comfortable talking to developers and the CIO alike
