About the Role
This is an opportunity for a construction and projects lawyer to join a specialist front-end team in Brisbane. You’ll advise on major projects from development and procurement through to delivery, working with government and private-sector clients across Australia and international matters.
Your work will focus on commercial construction and infrastructure transactions rather than routine legal administration. You’ll help clients structure projects, manage contractual risk and negotiate agreements that can have a major impact on project cost, delivery and commercial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Draft and negotiate complex construction contracts.
- Prepare consultancy and project delivery agreements.
- Develop procurement documentation for major projects.
- Advise clients on risk allocation and project delivery structures.
- Provide strategic legal advice on infrastructure and development projects.
- Work directly with clients as your responsibility increases.
- At Senior Associate level, lead key workstreams and manage complex transactions.
Who They’re Looking For
For the Associate position, you’ll need at least 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience in front-end construction, projects or infrastructure law. Senior Associate candidates should have around 2–4 years of experience post-promotion together with a strong record in complex transactional construction work.
You should also have strong legal drafting skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to assess and manage contractual and project risks. Experience in a recognised construction, projects or infrastructure practice will be highly valued.
