Ground Software Engineer at Hypersonica in Munich, Germany, offering an opportunity to work on advanced hypersonic defence technology. Candidates should have 3+ years of software engineering experience, strong C++ and Qt skills, and experience with Linux and Lean development. The role offers competitive salary, equity, and rapid hiring.
Ground Software Engineer
Full-time role with Hypersonica, based in Munich, Germany โ building the ground software that runs Europe’s hypersonic missions.
Ground Software Engineer roles like this one don’t show up often โ full ownership, real equity, and a direct hand in Europe’s hypersonic defence programs. Hypersonica is hiring in Munich for someone who can build software operators actually trust when a mission is live.
Help Build Europe’s Hypersonic Capability
At Hypersonica, the mission is straightforward: give Europe real technological independence in hypersonic defence, and do it faster than anyone thought possible. The team stays deliberately small, a group of sharp, hands-on engineers solving problems that actually matter, not shuffling paperwork in a big org chart.
This isn’t a role with a fixed job description you’ll follow to the letter. As Ground Software Engineer, you’ll help shape how the position grows, based on what you’re actually good at. Hypersonica hires for raw talent first, then figures out where that talent fits best, not the other way round.
Day to day, you’ll write high-performance C++ that runs on Linux and Windows, building the ground software engineers and operators rely on to prep, run, and monitor missions in real time. Qt and mapping SDKs come into play often, so comfort with a UI framework matters just as much as backend skill.
There’s no time tracking and no micromanagement here. You get clear goals, real autonomy, and accountability for outcomes instead of hours logged. Feedback from live tests and flights feeds straight back into the codebase, so good ideas move from whiteboard to mission-ready fast.
