About the Role

Desi Look Hair Salon in Tamworth is looking for an experienced Barber/Hairdresser to join its team. This is a hands-on salon position for someone who enjoys precision cutting, grooming, styling and helping customers leave with a look they feel good about.

The role covers much more than basic haircuts. You’ll work with scissors, clippers and razors, provide beard and moustache grooming, and handle colouring and other chemical treatments. The position also involves customer advice, appointment handling and keeping your workspace clean and ready for the next client.

Primary Responsibilities

• Cut hair using scissors, clippers and razors.
• Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
• Provide colouring, straightening and permanent-wave services.
• Style hair into braids and dreadlocks and apply extensions.
• Shampoo hair and condition clients’ scalps.
• Advise customers on hairstyles, hair care and suitable products.
• Clean, colour, cut and style wigs and hairpieces when required.
• Sanitise tools and maintain a clean work area.
• Arrange appointments and process customer payments.

Qualifications & Skills

You should have a relevant qualification and/or solid trade experience as a barber or hairdresser. The employer is looking for someone who understands current barbering and hairdressing techniques, including cutting, colouring and chemical treatments.
