About the Role

MercyOne Des Moines is looking for a BC/BE Family Medicine Physician to join its Residency Faculty. You’ll need real teaching experience in a residency or medical student setting, since the role blends clinical work with training the next generation of family doctors.

Day to day, you’ll provide clinical care and supervise residents across inpatient, outpatient, and OB settings. The program’s been running since 1997, with 7 full-time faculty, a Program Director who still sees patients, and 30 residents, 6 of them on the rural track. It partners with Primary Health Care, an FQHC, and offers Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine accreditation plus an Integrated Medicine curriculum track.

Financially, this role comes with a $150,000 sign-on bonus, a $20,000 retention bonus, paid malpractice coverage, and a 403(b) plan. Add in student loan repayment worth up to six figures, plus Public Service Loan Forgiveness and National Health Service Corps eligibility, and your debt load gets a lot lighter, fast.
