If you’re an experienced secondary teacher looking to move to Australia, this opportunity with Malek Fahd Islamic School could give you a clear route to Sydney. The school is recruiting qualified teachers from Singapore and South Africa, with particular interest in STEM teachers covering subjects such as Mathematics and Science.
About the Role
Malek Fahd Islamic School is looking for qualified Secondary Teachers who can teach Years 7–12 and contribute to a supportive, faith-based school community. You’ll work in an environment that combines academic learning with Islamic values, professional conduct and student wellbeing.
The school operates across three locations in Sydney and currently has more than 3,000 students across four campuses. Its stated vision is to be a leading school for Islamic education in Australia, while its mission focuses on helping every learner reach their full potential.
This program is aimed at teachers with at least five years of full-time teaching experience. Teachers with secondary STEM qualifications and experience, especially in Mathematics, Science and related subjects, are particularly encouraged to apply.
You’ll need strong written and spoken English, relevant teaching qualifications and the ability to work effectively with students, parents and colleagues. Successful applicants must also be eligible to obtain NESA accreditation and a Working With Children Check after arriving in New South Wales.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach secondary students across Years 7–12
- Plan and deliver effective classroom lessons

Who They’re Looking For
The school is particularly interested in experienced secondary teachers from Singapore or South Africa. Applicants should be comfortable working within an Islamic school environment and demonstrate respect for its values, educational philosophy and expectations around student care.
Teachers who can bring strong classroom management, communication, organisation and teamwork skills will be expected to contribute positively to the wider school community, not just deliver lessons.

The application process starts through SEEK. Your application should include your resume, cover letter and relevant teaching certifications. Shortlisted applicants may then be asked to answer screening questions, provide a video showing their teaching style and classroom management, and attend an online interview.
