Urology Physician (Robotic Surgery)
Faculty position with UT Tyler School of Medicine – UT Health East Texas Physicians, based in Athens / Tyler, Texas.
Urology physician jobs with full H-1B backing built in don’t come around often. This faculty role pairs steady outpatient and inpatient work with real robotic surgery time, a call rotation you can actually plan around, and a benefits package that looks after you and your family — not just your work calendar.
About the Role
UT Tyler School of Medicine is looking for a board-certified or board-eligible Urology Physician with hands-on robotics experience to join the team in Athens, Texas. You’ll hold a full faculty appointment, practicing across UT Health East Texas facilities, and you’ll get a genuine mix of clinic days and surgery days instead of getting boxed into just one.
On the numbers side, expect 20 to 25 patients a day between outpatient and inpatient care, plus 1 to 5 surgical cases a week that blend robotic and non-robotic procedures. If you’ve trained on the Da Vinci platform, that’s exactly the experience they want to put to work.
Your schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with call capped at 10 days a month and one weekend. It’s a predictable rhythm, not an open-ended grind.
The hospital backs you with Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology, so your notes get handled automatically and you’re not stuck charting after hours. That means more patients seen without your day stretching into the evening, and cleaner documentation for accurate coding too.
UT Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh across the entire University of Texas System. Its mission centers on training doctors who want to serve rural and hard-to-reach communities, backed by 20 residency and fellowship programs and a new Medical Education Building rising in Tyler’s Midtown District.
