Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

If you’re an experienced vehicle repair technician with real hands-on experience working on accident-damaged cars, this UK opportunity could be worth a serious look. MCK Global Recruitment is seeking experienced automotive repair professionals for a full-time role in London, with Skilled Worker visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates.

About the Role

This position focuses specifically on repairing and rebuilding vehicles that have been damaged in accidents. You’ll handle the mechanical, electrical and trim work needed before, during and after body repairs. The role sits within a professional accident repair environment where you’ll work alongside panel beaters and spray painters to get vehicles back into safe, finished condition.

Your work can start with stripping a damaged vehicle before bodywork begins. You’ll remove affected mechanical parts, disconnect electrical systems, take off interior and exterior trim, and later refit and reconnect the components correctly. You’ll also carry out mechanical repairs connected to accident damage and help rebuild vehicles after panel beating and paint work.

The employer is looking for people who already understand vehicle repair work. This isn’t a general electrician position, and applicants without genuine vehicle repair experience aren’t suitable. Experience with accident-damaged vehicles, bodyshop work, vehicle diagnostics and mechanical systems is particularly important.

  • Strip vehicles before accident repair and bodywork begins
  • Remove mechanical components affected by collision damage

  • Follow manufacturer repair procedures and workshop processes
  • Complete quality checks before vehicles return to customers

  • Hands-on experience with accident-damaged vehicles
  • Experience in an autobody, collision repair or bodyshop environment
  • Knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and components
  • Experience removing and refitting electrical components
  • Experience working with panel beaters and spray painters
  • Vehicle diagnostics and fault-identification experience
  • Relevant automotive qualification or recognised repair certification
  • Good spoken and written English

Who Should Apply?

This role is particularly suited to experienced vehicle repair professionals who may use different job titles in their home country. Suitable backgrounds can include Autobody Repair Technician, Vehicle Repair Technician, Collision Repair Technician, Accident Repair Technician, Vehicle Technician – Bodyshop or Automotive Repair Technician.

You don’t necessarily need to have previously used the title “MET Technician.” What matters is your actual experience. If you’ve stripped, repaired and rebuilt accident-damaged vehicles and can confidently handle mechanical, electrical and trim components, your experience may match what the employer needs.

The listing specifically highlights experienced vehicle repair professionals in South Africa, making it especially relevant to qualified South African applicants looking for an international automotive career.
