Posted: September 11, 2026
If you’re an experienced bricklayer looking for a permanent construction job in the UK, this Northern Ireland opportunity could be worth a look. Recruitment Partnership Ireland is recruiting skilled bricklayers for a busy site team working across the region.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time bricklaying position covering construction sites across Northern Ireland. You’ll work on new-build and commercial projects, carrying out brick, block and stone work to the required line, level and specification.
The job involves more than simply laying bricks. You’ll also be expected to set out work, mix and apply mortar, read construction drawings and leave completed work to a high standard. Because the sites are spread across the region, you need to be comfortable travelling between different work locations.
The employer is looking for someone with proven, time-served bricklaying experience rather than someone who is just starting out. You should be able to understand drawings, follow specifications and work independently while fitting into a wider construction team.
For overseas applicants, Skilled Worker sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates for up to three years. The vacancy also states that bricklaying is covered by the relevant shortage arrangements. Current UK government guidance identifies bricklayers under SOC 5313 and lists the occupation on the Immigration Salary List through December 31, 2026.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks and stone to line and level
- Work on new-build and commercial construction projects
- Set out brickwork accurately before construction
- Mix and apply mortar correctly
- Read and work from construction drawings
- Follow project specifications and site requirements
- Complete brickwork to a consistently high standard
- Work safely as part of an active construction team
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven, time-served experience as a bricklayer
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings
- Ability to work accurately to construction specifications
- Full driving licence required because sites are spread across Northern Ireland
- Good standard of spoken and written English
- Practical experience working on construction sites
Visa Sponsorship
The employer states that Skilled Worker sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas applicants, with sponsorship available for up to three years. This makes the vacancy relevant to experienced bricklayers who are currently outside the UK and are looking for an employer-supported route into UK construction work.
Bricklayers are classified under SOC 5313 in current UK immigration guidance. The government’s current Immigration Salary List shows a UK-wide salary figure of £33,400 per year, equivalent to £17.13 per hour for a 37.5-hour working week.
